CausesAppropriate Tests

Clinical and radiological assessment.

Urine microscopy and culture; cytology if indicated.

FBC and blood film; creatinine, urea. FNAB, needle or open biopsy if indicated.

Renal tumour, especially

  • Wilms tumour
  • Renal cell carcinoma

Perinephric Abscess 

FNAB with microscopy and culture (including mycobacteria testing). Blood culture.
