If indicated: peritoneal fluid examination - microscopy, culture and cytology.

Blood culture. FBC, blood film, differential WCC.

'Surgical', especially

Peritoneal dialysis

Primary infection, especially

  • Streptococcus pneumoniae in
  • Mycobacterium tuberculosis
