Method

DFA, EIA, nucleic acid detection after amplification.

Application

Investigation of severe respiratory illness in infants (bronchiolitis, pneumonia, croup), immunocompromised and elderly patients.

Interpretation

Presence of viral antigen indicates respiratory syncytial virus infection.
