| Interpretation | Evidence of intravascular haemolysis where the capacity of haptoglobin to bind free haemoglobin is exceeded. Elevated levels in haemolytic transfusion reactions, microangiopathic haemolytic anaemia (including prosthetic valve disease, PNH, march haemoglobinuria). |
