| Interpretation | Intercellular cement substance antibodies (also known as desmoglein antibodies) are specific for pemphigus. Titres correlate with disease activity and effect of treatment. Pemphigus-like antibodies occur in burns, drug reactions and other disorders with extensive skin damage. |
