| Application | Diagnosis and prognosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Also positive in other chronic inflammatory conditions and immune complex diseases. |
| Interpretation | Patients with rheumatoid arthritis and positive rheumatoid factor tend to have more aggressive articular disease and are at greater risk of extra-articular complications. |
