Method dependent - consult pathologist.

Application

In patients with IgA deficiency, to determine the risk of transfusion associated anaphylaxis.

Interpretation

This test is of limited use in delineating a subgroup of IgA deficient patients who may be at higher risk of anaphylaxis if given infusions of blood products containing IgA.
