Indirect IF (endomsyial). Immunoassay (transglutaminase) measured.

Reference Interval

Consult laboratory.

Application

Diagnosis of coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis.

Interpretation

IgA endomysial antibodies IgA transglutaminase antibodies have a specificity of >90% for the diagnosis of coeliac disease. The test may be negative in patients with coeliac disease associated with IgA deficiency.
