Immunoassay.

Reference Interval

<13 µg/L.

Application

Useful in monitoring childhood asthma where peak flow measurement is impossible.

Interpretation

Raised levels indicate increased in vivo eosinophil activity.

Levels have been reported to correlate with clinical severity of asthma and with decreased peak flow rates.
